City Winds Trio - Library/Education Programs
City Winds Trio, a professional chamber group
consiting of Flute, Oboe and Bassoon, presents Musical Innovations.
Musical Innovations is an educational program that introduces
children to classical music and the instruments within an
orchestra through appreciation and discovery.
City Winds Trio has inspired over 5000 children
in the tri-state area to love and treasure music through our
many Musical Innovations programs. Our programs are very hands-on
and include: live music, movement, literature, art projects
and a violin and several percussion instruments for the children
to try. City Winds Trio has many programs available.
Develop your own custom program from the following
list:
- Classical Music
- Ragtime-the music of Scott Joplin
- Rhythm Melodies
- American patriotic music
- Peter & the Wolf
- Nursery Rhyme songs
- Mozart
Each program will include: live music, movement,
an art project, the trying of real musical instruments and
many more activities. Below see pictures of a Musical Innovations
session.
This will be a wonderful experience for children
to see and hear some of the instruments of an orchestra up
close. Also bringing books about music and musical instruments
to life. For example a reviewer of the children's book Meet
the Orchestra by Ann Hayes said the book was wonderful but
wished there was a CD that came along with the book to introduce
the sounds of the instruments.
Musical Innovations will bring these instruments
to life for the children.
